		Ray leads off a good turnout .
		We leave Leighterton, passing the graves of members of the Australian Air Force stationed locally during and after the first war .
		Our back markers seem a long way behind .
		We head down towards Westonbirt .
		John and Chris ensure that we are not in danger of getting lost today .

		And rustling towards a clearing .

		We enter the Arboretum and Ray, our leader, stops to tell us about trees
		People are enjoying this walk .
		We press on towards Silk Wood .

		Stopping regularly to admire the colours .
		Then walking on in the bright morning sunlight .
		A plane load of American tourists look down on the English Fall .
		But the views are better from the ground .
		Westonbirt at its most colourful .
		Our leader lags behind and needs help to spot the group .
		Continuing along the drive .
		We stop here for our elevenses .
		Some of our number look unhappy at being caught under the pest control exercise .
		We walk along the edge of the Arboretum .
		Making our way back to Leighterton .
		Even the dead trees look good .
		Back in Leighterton we are welcomed by the locals .
		Who have been on the lookout for us .
		At the village duckpond .
		We pass the church .
		and head back to the Royal Oak for lunch .

		As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat.
