Randwick and Standish Woods -

19 July 2006

Mike and Heather's walk is in record breaking temperatures, so the route is changed to keep in the shade of Standish Woods for most of the 5 miles.
.
We set off in sweltering sunshine while the intelligent animals stay in the shade
.
We look down over Stroud
.
And find a little relief from the sun in the woods
.
Where we stop for a group photo
.
Reaching the edge of the woods on the Cotswold Way we look down over Stonehouse
.
And later into a secluded valley
.
It might rain yet!
.
On Haresfield Beacon
.
Bernard finds another walking stick to replace one lost on an earlier walk
.
Looking down over the Severn Vale
.
Proud mother
.
We walk back into Randwick
.
Where we have lunch at a welcoming hostlery
.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
