The Daffodil Way -

15 April 2006

Jim leads us on a 10 miler around a local favourite - The Daffodil Way - they're all wild! We start near Dymock, some nearer than others.

We set off through fields of daffodils in pursuit of our leader, to whom we have given a head start.
Finally catching him in contemplative mood.
Daffodils appear from every nook and cranny.
And we also spot some old industrial archaeology.
And a boat.
The willow trees are a sight
We are on the right path.
As we reach St Mary's Church Kempley
Where we wander round.
Rest our weary legs.
Eat a banana
And study the internal wall paintings
Rather amazing!
Before setting off along the river bank where Jim , our leader, points out a possible old mill site.
We stop for lunch in the early Spring sunshine.
Then head off through Dymock woods where we wait for stragglers to catch up.
Before crossing the M50.
And passing the derelict Boyce House.
Then we walk along the old Hereford to Gloucester Canal
Where we find more daffodils
Before taking tea in Dymock Church. Shall we? Oh, all right then. After you...
And very nice it was too

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the area. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
