Anyone for Badminton? -

8 April 2006

Twenty of us set out on a level figure of eight walk.

Olivia leads us along the main street in Badminton
David and Maurice passing some rather grand gates
After a long winter it is good to see green crops starting to grow again
After a couple of miles we reach the Cotswold escarpment with views to Horton village
And even the original Severn Bridge
Heading back into the sun
A consolidation stop near the airfield where
What's all this?
It's not often that we have to pause a walk whilst an aeroplane lands but we do today!
Parking the 'plane in its garage
Nearly lunch time now as we return into Badminton
Celandines
Like the terracotta colour
A visiting blacksmith shoes a horse
An interesting place architecturally - what are they looking at up ahead?
A couple of gardens with many fascinating inhabitants
Last view of the main street. Photographers make an early exit whilst most of the walkers do another 5 miles in the afternoon.

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
