Heavens, Horns and Wasa-Wasa -

1 April 2006

Note the date of Bernard's walk

After climbing the hill out of Thrupp we set off in military formation
Across the Heavens with views of Stroud
Then looking down the Horns
We stopped for coffee
Then up to Wasa Wasa
Where Bernard, our leader, gives us one of five hundred explanations for the name - then points out that it is the 1st April - but looking up google, count the references!
We then head down into the Toadsmoor Valley
Through the woods
And along the bottom of the Valley
Towards Bisley where we encounter swollen streams
And flooded fields
With tricky gateways
Reaching Bisley we stop to look at the Wells
Before heading through the village
To lunch at the Bear
After which we stop to ponder the fate of latter day drunkards in the lock up
Before skirting Bisley across wind swept fields
Then back down into Toadsmoor
Heading home with views of Lypiatt Park
Photos and captions thanks to Richard once again
top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
