Barrow Hill -

25 March 2006

Barrow Hill is a small hill on the otherwise flat Arlingham Peninsula, by the River Severn.

Margaret led a group of 33 ramblers to Barrow Hill
Kathy and others had trouble with this so-called stile
Call this a stile?
Llamas were among the livestock we met
Another difficult stile
On Barrow Hill there was a recently erected stile, much better than the others, but still not meeting the detailed requirements of the new British Standard
At Wick Court there are Gloucester Old Spot pigs
And miscellaneous horses
We later joined the Severn Way
And passed the old pub (disused) at Framilode
Looking across the Severn with May Hill on the skyline
Remains of the canal at Upper Framilode

top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
