| Another view of the house | ||
| Then down the valley | ||
| And over a stile | ||
| Through an area of scrub | ||
| And climb back up the hill | ||
| A pause at the top before breaking the ice on our water and taking our morning break | ||
| With views over Painswick | ||
| And to Painswick Beacon | ||
| The snowdrops are good this year | ||
| Bernard stops to check our route | ||
| We pass Washbrook Mill | ||
| Then down to a sluice and bridge | ||
| Over the Painswick Stream | ||
| Views of Painswick looking up from the other side | ||
| Then past another old mill | ||
| Before a final stop for Bernard to impart more information about the area - was this really a red light district in the 50's? | ||

| As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association. |
