Foston's Ash and Sheepscombe -

18 March 2006

Having thawed out I am now able to send copies of photos of Saturday's walk, writes Richard.

Well wrapped (temperature 1 degree C and an E wind chill) we meet with our leader Cynthia in the car park of Fostons Ash
Before setting off across the fields
To Whiteway Colony
Then down the hill into Workmans Wood
With a brief stop at the bottom
And a chance to chat to some refugees from the Andes
Before heading towards Sheepscombe
Where some of us are tempted to take a break
But we wait for coffee on Sheepscombe Common looking down on the village
Just below a famous cricket pitch
Then we head back through Workmans Wood with views down the valley
.Passing the ponds
And the National Trust Information Point
Climbing back up the hill, meeting other path users
Before arriving back at Fostons Ash for lunch
Photos and captions thanks to Richard
top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
