southcotswoldramblers.org.uk Owlpen and Nympsfield - 22 February 2006 Ray leads 14 members from Uley on another mid week walk. |
|
| We set off on a bitterly cold day across a rather interesting stone bridge | ||
| Towards Owlpen Manor and Church | ||
| We pause to take in the view of the front of the Manor | ||
| While Brian is lurking behind a hedge | ||
| Discussion takes place as to why a door has been put halfway up the tower | ||
| Before we climb to the top of the hill to be shepherded over a quite busy road | ||
| Then it is single file across a field to ... | ||
| ... Nympsfield church where we stop for coffee | ||
| Exiting the church after coffee refreshed and warmer | ||
| Then back down the valley | ||
| Towards Uley and the cars | ||
| Photos and captions thanks to Richard | ||
| As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association. |
