Hill and Ham Winter Warmer -

4 February 2006

Joe is our leader as 14 hardy souls set off on a cold misty day. One of the highlights is a pub with a new landlord selling some very interesting kinds of bitter.

Setting off on a cold February morning ...
... towards the Severn
Traffic on the Severn
Walking along the river bank ...
... stopping only for Joe (2nd from right) to impart more of his local knowledge
Seen growing in the river
Joe says that this is something to do with radiation monitoring ...
... from here
Entering the deer park after lunch
Final instructions on stalking deer
Which one shall we have for dinner?
At last in the distance we see some deer
A haunted house
Help over a difficult stile
The end of a hard walk but no one is tempted to take a seat
Photos and captions thanks to Richard
top As you can see, we thoroughly enjoy getting to know the South Cotswolds. We try to keep fit and succeed in having a good old chat. If you are interested in coming with us, see our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions about a particular walk. After two or three walks we hope you will then want to join the group as part of the national Ramblers' Association.
