Kingscote and Horsley -
9 November 2005
Wonderful November sunshine and blue skies on a midweek walk. Photos from Angela, John and Mike.
Ray briefs the party of 25 at Hunters Hall, Kingscote. We are pleased to see several new faces
(and of course the old faces too!)
We head across the plateau towards the deeply incised valleys ...
.... where we stop for views. Here we overlook Binley Farm Cottages.
The sun highlights the contours of the land.
Down we go, and up again into the beech woods.
Still plenty of green leaves, probably due to the mild autumn.
Lovely lighting ...
... and fascinating fungi.
.A steep, rather awkward, descent.
We head towards Horsley ...
... and pass the spindleberries to have a drinks stop on the football field
What a sight.
The solid tower of Horsley Church.
After a steep climb we look back to the panorama of the village. Can you spot the church?
Onwards and upwards past the old trees.
Friendly cattle, not fazed by 25 people!
Ray takes great care of his party, making sure we overcome all difficulties!
Wow! What amazing colours!

Can we come too?
No, we're heading back across the plateau towards the pub, where many of us have our lunch.
Non-members are very welcome on up to 3 walks to see if they like them before deciding whether to join.
See our walks programme and ring the leader if you have any questions.
