Pictures
from Mike and John of Kathy's Car Walk©. At the moment Kathy is
unable to walk except on the level
due to tendon trouble, but here
she has found a new way to lead walks! |
She leads us
for a few minutes before driving to the next road crossing, having given
us clear instructions of the
section in between. |

What a
glorious Autumnal morning. |
Typical
Cotswold view as we leave Uley for the climb up to Coaley Peak. |
We make our
way up towards Cockadilly, the path becoming very steep near the top. |
We emerge on
to the plateau and gaze over the panorama of Nympsfield village nestling
in a slight hollow, and
the wind turbine on a nearby ridge (scroll right). |
A tug plane
pulls up a glider from the nearby airfield. |
View from
Coaley Peak on what would be a magnificent summer's day if it had not
been October! |
We often
take pictures of the distance landscapes but this is the other end of
the scale - close-up of moss
where we stop for coffee. |
View of the
controversial new chair lift to Uley Fort. |
After
walking through Coaley Woods on the Cotswold Way, we emerge near Uley
Bury. |
The group
pauses for a group photo near to Uley Iron Age Fort. |
Here Kathy
joins us on a levellish circuit of the Bury. We admire the view over
Downham Hill
and Dursley in the distance. |
The sun
shines on Downham Hill, now opening as Access Land. |
Round the
corner we overlook our destination of Uley village. |
Autumn is
approaching. |
Sunny and
warm as we descend back into Uley. |
We descend
steeply and meet up with Kathy once again at the bottom , who instructs
us how to reach our cars.
Well done Kathy for such a
great walk (and weather), and we look forward to your early recovery. |

A view of
Uley Church. |

This week's
red berries are - Pacific Yew (Taxus brevifolia)! At least that's what I
think it is! |
