Cud Hill and Painswick Beacon (2) -
6 July 2004
John took these photos. See also Angela and Patrick's photos.
On a very hot day Bernard our leader for the day lets us know what lies ahead.
The group cool off in the shade during a hot ascent of Cud Hill.
Some amazing views from the top of Cud Hill, the effort was worth it!
View through the stone monument near the graves on Cud Hill. (A very striking photo - Mike)
Margaret surveys the magnificent poppy fields that stretched for miles along our route.
Bernard tries to persuade us that the climb really will be worth it!
He was right, we made it to the top of Painswick Beacon and the views were well worth the effort.
We find some jungle on the way back and Bernard, as a good leader, hacks the way clear for us.
Has anybody got any sugar lumps?
Nearly home as we cross the busy M5 motorway.
On a glorious summer's day looking down on the hectic motorway we realise why we are Ramblers.
Thank you John for the photos and captions.
