Another damp
day - and this is May, nearly mid-Summer. Never mind, Jim took us on an
excellent walk on the outskirts of Stroud and Stonehouse. |
Here we are
about to hit open country after walking through
some housing. Note the old barn. |
Rather soggy
here as we head towards Doverow Hill. |
We keep
getting views of Selsley Common, and its unusual
church just below. |
We are so
fortunate in this area, being able to walk into wonderful countryside
right on our doorstep. Rodborough Common is visible on the right, |
Another view
of Rodborough (left) and Selsley (right) Commons. The chimney of Ebley
Mill is clear (mid left). |
After
descending from Doverow Hill we spot the Arlingham Peninsula on the
River Severn. As you look at this photo the river goes away on the right
and comes back towards you on the left (near Slimbridge), a distance of
9 miles! |
Two calves
with the "aaahh" factor. |
Heading up
to Maiden Hill on the Cotswold Way. Jim calls this clump of trees The
Furzes, although the Ordnance Survey have not recorded this name. |
It's
going to rain - May Hill is very clear on the far side of the Severn.
The camera was put away after this, but we enjoyed walking through the
woods to Randwick before returning to Cashes Green. |
