Uleybury, Cam Peak and Downham Hill -
1 April 2004
Kathy billed this 1 April walk as "A walk for fit fools" or "A walk fit for fools". Read on to find out why.
We dropped down 450 feet to the vale from Uleybury, seen here in the background.
We crept by this calf, who was determined to stick his ground, and not run back to mother.
There were many signs of Spring, young calves and lambs - aaah!
And Kathy found the first bluebell - extremely early.
As we climbed up to Cam Peak we could see our next hill, Downham or Smallpox Hill, over to the side.
It was very blustery on top, and the views of Dursley and Stinchcombe Hill were rather veiled.
Coming down from the Peak we saw this footpath repair work taking place. The path had been eroding into the stream.
Olivia and friend.
We had a refreshment stop on top of Downham Hill. Here Kathy looks across to the one hill we didn't do today, Long Down.
The final assault back up to Uleybury.

Facts and figures for the walk.
Uleybury, down to the vale, up to Cam Peak, Downham Hill and back to Uleybury - quite an energetic walk!
