Anne takes
us on a very cool morning up hill from Dursley. |
We are soon
warm as we pause to catch up half way up. |
Ready to go
again. |
The sun
shines gloriously as we walk through the nature reserve at Breakheart
Quarry. |
We start to
descend into Waterley Bottom. |
It is quite
steep so we take it carefully. |
The view
opens up. |
After a walk
along the floor of the valley, there is the inevitable climb up again. |
More woods
as we return to Dursley. All the leaves have the advantage of soaking up
the moisture for a relatively mud-free walk. |
Over the
houses in the distance some of us notice no fewer than five peaks -
wonderful walking country. Four of them are on the Cotswold Way and
Downham Hill now has a permissive footpath to the top from the kennels.
See below for an enlargement. |
