Beverston and Chavenage-
January 2004
A cloudy but dry January day for our walk from Beverston Castle.
We cross several fields and pass by a shooting party where ...
... we spot this appealing sight!
Kathy leads us into Ledgemore Bottom.
Later we visit the entrance to Chavenage House (open May to September)
The house through the gates.
And the party have the "group" shot.
After about half a mile there is a rear view of Chavenage House and its grounds.
Over the fields to the right we spot Beverston Castle adjacent to a farm.
Over to the left is the unmistakeable tall, thin spire of Tetbury parish church. The clumps of trees on the skyline identify the Marlborough Downs in Wiltshire.
In Beverston churchyard there are signs of Spring. You may be able to spot a few yellow winter aconites surfacing through the old leaves and behind them them some snowdrops.
