Midnight Walk
- 31 December 2003
Mike had the idea of walking in the new year on the top of Rodborough Common and getting a free view of all the fireworks in the district at the same time.
Unfortunately it started raining 2 hours before the start. Still, seven brave (or foolhardy) souls turned up - this is the only picture to prove it as the camera was immediately put away for protection. Just ask the participants (from L to R Ken, Mary, Tim and Alex on the one and a half mile walk. Also there but not on picture were Bill, Heather and Mike. The fireworks were magnificent in all directions as midnight struck and we did not know where to look first (we could see Nailsworth, Stonehouse, Stroud, Painswick and Bussage!) We hope for better weather in 12 months time.

The previous evening Mike and Heather did a "dry run" and took a few pictures, shown below, the ones with the camera shake being more interesting than the still one!
Stroud with no camera shake.
Much prettier now.
And one more to show the possibilities of this new art medium - who needs fireworks?

See you next year - possibly!
