Leighterton and Westonbirt
- December 2003
A cold drizzly start for this morning walk from Leighterton village, but 19 walkers turn out for some fresh air, and quite a few stay for a very good pub snack afterwards.
We queue to cross the stone stile.
We are heading for Westonbirt Arboretum.
The driveway through Silk Wood is still colourful.
Heather collects the banana and orange skins for her beloved compost heap, developing into something of a group tradition!
Tim, our leader for the day, shows us the Village Duckpond. The geese are on the look out for food as usual.
Nothing doing here, chaps!
Rather attractive plumage on the right - can anyone identify the type for us? Someone thought it might be juvenile plumage. Duck enthusiasts can see another photo on our recent Uley walk!
