Tom (4th from left) was our
leader for our second ever week day walk (and first stroll) on the 18th
November 2003. |
An improving day weatherwise
as we pose for the Group photo. |
Tom and Audrey set off across
the common, closely followed by "little" Jim. |
The trees have lost most of
their leaves after last Friday's storm. |
Here we are on top of the
Beacon by the old trig point, soon to be removed we believe. |
Wide views and an eerie light
with the misty Malverns. Can you spot Gloucester Cathedral? |
The sun breaks through as we
head downhill. Edge Common is in the background. |
We turn left and head back
towards Painswick. The famous church spire is just about visible against
the skyline trees. The hedgerow trees take on their winter skeletal
appearance. |
Near the end we pass
Painswick House, with its Rococo Gardens and famous snowdrops on display
early in the new year. Another lovely expedition, thanks to Tom and
Audrey. |
