Coaley - November 2003
It is a misty day for the pre-Annual General Meeting walk from Coaley ably led by our vice chairman Kathy (centre).
The rain holds off for most of the morning, but there is later plenty whilst we are in the meeting in the afternoon.
Dozens of stiles on this walk from the Vale up to the Cotswold escarpment.
We pass the outlier of Cam Long Down.
Lovely muted hues.
Tree silhouettes emerge after the relatively short autumn (or fall).
Up we go with the River Severn lost in the mist.
We queue for another awkward stile.
The Cotswold edge gets nearer.
How about this for a stile!
The flag is flying to celebrate England's victory yesterday over the Aussies in the Rugby World Cup. We are the champions! "Swing low, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home."
Down hill again past these delightful (man-made) ponds.
And what about this man-made hedge - a wonder to behold!
After the walk Bernard, our secretary, dashes up the road for the key to the meeting hall.
And the cakes await along with the first members eager to be admitted. A good meeting too with three new volunteer committee members keen to help the aims of the Association and an excellent discussion session.
