Bulls Cross and the Slad Valley- June 2003
No fewer than 33 people turned out for the walk in the delightful Slad Valley.
Here are a few of us crossing the centuries old packhorse bridge near Snows Farm.
"Buttercups our gold".
Walking the plank - we think this bridge has been vandalised and reduced to this. No one fell in!
Jim checks the map while we wait for others to cross the stile.
For many of us, this little path through the cottages at Elcombe was a new experience.
Along the lane from Elcombe towards Swifts Hill.
We stopped in the old quarry on Swifts Hill and were amazed at the number of Jurassic fossils to be found in the ragstone.
A wonderful view from the top of Swift's Hill over Stroud and to the Severn. Here we enjoyed a relaxed break before our last descent and climb of the morning.
