Mike and Heather led 18 of us to the edge of the Forest of Dean at Longhope, where we did a 9 mile walk including climbing the prominent Gloucestershire landmark of May Hill. We plan to climb the hill again in May 2003, this time from Lea in Herefordshire (see our walks programme).

The bluebells were astounding and drew gasps from the walkers as they climbed Glasshouse Hill before their pub lunch at Glasshouse.

First walkers did a circuit of the hill, seeing all the views, including the "rear" view of the Malvern Hills.

They could see well into Herefordshire and South Wales, and were starting to feel relaxed after their exertions (and the pub lunch!).

Pam takes full advantage of the lovely sunshine, and we all have a good rest.

Making our way down off the hill - a shame we had to go as it was so relaxing!
